Taken on the day we met

 

So here I am, one year into marriage and motherhood and I've been sucked into blogging.  Dave and I met on September 19, 2009, at a divorce party, thereby proving that good things CAN come out of a divorce.  He proposed on December 1st, also 2009, and I said yes even though I had always sworn I would never marry a man after so short a courtship.  I settled for a nine month engagement to make up for that and we were married June 19, 2010.

Dave has two children: his eldest, Shawn, is an adult but has moved home with us for a while, his youngest, Amerah, was 8 when we tied the knot.  In addition to becoming a wife after 37 years single, I became a full time mother to a beautiful, feisty 8 year old girl.  Dave has custody of Amerah so she lives with us full time and with Dave's crazy work hours (especially in the summer when he has a heavier workload) I am often parenting solo.

One year later I think I can safely say that I've adapted to my new life and new roles...

 I'm choosing to believe that blogging (i.e. the baring of ones soul on the internet) is a great way to share your life with friends and family rather than free therapy...
