Part 1... Easter at the Jones' menagerie

Easter festivities began on Saturday, here at the Jones' house.  We were so disappointed that Dave had to work, for the second Easter in a row, but took lots of photos so that he could share it with us.

Saturday fun began with dying Easter eggs...
An activity that Amerah takes quite seriously...
I was surprised and very pleased that, when Amerah asked, Shawn joined in on the fun...
Oh no... Shawn didn't inherit Dave's perfectionist streak... not at all... ;-)

Amerah is more of a "let's try this and see what happens" kind of gal...

We ended up with a colorful batch of Easter eggs (mine were just plain and boring solid colors)
Note to self:  Never ever ever... do glitter eggs again!  Never!

Next on the agenda was opening boxes from Grandma Mimzy... yes that is plural.  My mother only has one grandchild... that's the only reason I can come up with for why Amerah received FIVE boxes from Grandma for Easter!  Three of them arrived on Saturday, the other two arrived the Monday after Easter... so I took some photos of the first batch, but was too busy when the second batch arrived.
That is her "Oh COOL!" face hahaha.  She also LOVED all of the rustic barbie furniture!
Grandma's friend, Charlotte, made this little monkey for Amerah... This is Amerah's "I love it!  Thank you Charlotte!  See I'm a monkey too!" photo.

Amerah and I ended the night by reading the Easter story in the Bible.  We started with the Garden of Gethsemane and ended with Jesus' ascension into Heaven.  Amerah wanted to read all four versions from all four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) but my voice was giving out after the first, so we ended up reading Matthew, and then skimming the other three for additional info that Matthew didn't mention or that was different.  I think next year we'll read Luke.  By the end of the night, after a long day of fun and work (getting the house ready for company), Amerah and I were ready to go to sleep!
