Amerah was warned that 6 am was the earliest she could get up... at 6:09 she was at our bedroom door! We somehow managed to convince her to sleep for another hour (not sure how we managed that) but that was the end of our rest!
She ran down the stairs and then back up to hurry us along. I knew it was a good sign when she started shouting, "I GOT A PEACE SIGN TABLE AND A ZEBRA PRINT LAMP!" at the top of her lungs! I knew right then that she was going to be a happy camper because, if she was THAT excited over a table and a lamp, just wait till she saw what else was under the tree haha!
She spent a long time exploring her stocking :-)
Then it was on to the family room for the real presents...
Shawn was pretty happy with his gifts too...
Shawn got a lot of stuff for his train set and disappeared downstairs right away to put it together...
Lily was such a good girl! She was perfectly content with a bone, an unstuffed reindeer, an unstuffed snowman, and a rope ring. If only all the kids were that inexpensive!
This is my favorite photo of Lily because you can see how happy she is... just look at that smile!
Ummm... wait a minute... WHO'S remote control car is that? Hahahaha boys will be boys!
Dave and I even got in a few photos :-)
And just in case anyone wasn't sure who these gifts were to... or from...
Once the presents were opened... and the cinnamon rolls consumed (store bought... from the refrigerated section... I'm not ambitious enough for homemade on Christmas morning)... Dave and I took a nap while Amerah played with her new toys!
After a couple hours napping, I finally felt human again and started preparations for dinner. We had my grandmother over as well as the missionaries from church...
I am so glad that we decided to invite the missionaries! Elder Lewis and Elder Urry were a lot of fun. They were very surprised to find that Santa had filled a couple stockings for them as well! They livened up our small family and even managed to engage Shawn with an interest in his puzzles and Rubik's Cube! They also ended dinner with a lovely spiritual message about the birth of Christ which brought us back to the true meaning of Christmas.
I have no clue what those looks are about!
Looks like a fun Christmas!
