In the end of August (yes I am still trying to catch up on my blogging), a butterfly exhibit came to our local conservatory and petting farm!
It was a ridiculously hot day but we sweated through it so that Amerah could enjoy the butterflies...
She enjoyed it so much, it was well worth the sweat!
After the butterflies, we hopped next door to say hi to the animals at the petting farm...
My favorite by far was this cow... who LOVED us! She kept trying to grab my camera!
A staff member tells me that they have to be careful because this cow was raised on the farm.. Apparently, when she was a calf, the staff would play with her... now that she's so much bigger, she is still very playful and will charge them when they're in her pen! We were told that just that day a new staffer barely made it over the fence as the cow came running at her!
We love animals! Amerah still wants to be a vet when she grows up!

Good friends and cookies
Back in the end of August, Amy spent the night. Amerah considers Amy one of her best friends and, although I would never tell Amerah this, I love Amy too! Amy is sweet, well mannered, intelligent, does well in school, reads for fun, plays fair, doesn't whine, and has a host of other desirable qualities that parents want to see rub off on their kids...
While she was here the girls played games, listened to music, danced, and finally baked cookies (well I baked cookies and they helped haha).
I love nights like these!
Oh yeah... we love having friends over :-)

Labor Day Picnic!
So apparently I'm going backwards in time on my blog! We had a lot of fun at the church Labor Day picnic...
Amerah took off pretty quickly to play with the other kids...
While the kids were off playing softball, volleyball, and every other kind of ball... some of us adults started feeling a little guilty for lazing around in the shade. So someone started kicking around a ball... before we knew it we had a full fledged game of armchair soccer going hahaha...
As you can see, some of the kids joined us after a while... they didn't last long though (insert evil laugh here)...
Oh, and in case I forgot... I guess I should thank my husband for this daring save!
I love relaxing days with good friends!
What a fun group we had :-)
